Submission Deadline: October 25, 2026
We invite submissions for a special issue focusing on the evolving interface between oral health and systemic disease. Increasing evidence highlights the bidirectional relationship between oral conditions, particularly periodontal and mucosal diseases, and systemic disorders such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune conditions, and adverse pregnancy outcomes.
This issue aims to explore underlying biological mechanisms, including inflammatory pathways, immune dysregulation, and the role of the oral microbiome in systemic health and disease progression. We welcome contributions that examine clinical correlations, translational research, and interdisciplinary approaches to patient care.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: periodontal-systemic disease links, oral microbiome and systemic inflammation, dental implications of chronic systemic conditions, and integrated care models bridging dentistry and medicine.
We encourage original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and perspectives that provide clinically relevant insights and advance evidence-based interdisciplinary practice.
